Why a new PUG is needed

Chisinau is a city in constant change. Since the approval of the current General Urban Plan in 2007, new neighbourhoods and residential areas have appeared, traffic has intensified, and the needs of residents have diversified. At the same time, new challenges and opportunities emerged around mobility, green spaces, environmental protection, urban heritage, and digital transformation. PUG Chisinau 2040 is needed to respond to these changes and build a clear vision for how the municipality will develop in the coming decades.
